The Youth Excellence Sponsorship Program (YES!) helps Lake Macquarie residents under 18 take part in top-level state, national, or international competitions.
Before applying, check the eligibility criteria. Schools or school-related competitions, professional athletes with existing sponsorship, recreational events, and anyone funded in the same financial year aren’t eligible.
Provide details about your event, the discipline that you are competing in, how you were selected, and your achievements, with evidence like awards or certificates.
Applications are judged on merit, benefit to Lake Macquarie, financial need, endorsements, and overall quality. Successful applicants will share a short reflection after the event.
Incomplete applications or those submitted after the competition date or funding round closing will not be considered.
