About the Event

Date: Saturday 26 July 2025 

Time: 10am-3pm 

Location: Rathmines Theatre and Rathmines Park  

Wham, bam, Pop Bam! Lake Macquarie's newest popular culture festival returns this July! 

Lake Mac Pop Bam is a celebration of all things popular culture including comics, superheroes, music, film, television and everything in between. 

This inclusive event for all ages and abilities will celebrate the magic that is popular culture. 

Pop Bam is a ticketed event, and we are looking for independent comic book artists, authors, illustrators, cosplayers, crafters, and other 3D makers to sell their original and handmade creations. We believe in celebrating creativity and passion in all its forms, from artists and makers to collectors and traders to join us!  

Stall Options & Details

This year, there are three (3) stall types available for application: 

Indoor Stall Details (10 available) 

Location: Inside Rathmines Theatre. 
Size: 2m x 2m 
Inclusion: 2 x 1.8m Table, 2 x chairs 
Cost: $111.00 incl. GST 

Outdoor Marquee Stall Details (10 available) 

Location: Rathmines Theatre Grounds (covered by a central weather-proof outdoor marquee supplied by LMCC). 
Size: 3m x 3m 
Inclusion: 2 x 1.8m Table, 2 x chairs 
Cost: $111.00 incl. GST 

BYO Outdoor Stall Details (10 available) 

Location: Rathmines Theatre Grounds (open air, no cover provided). 
Size: 3m x 3m 
Cost: $0 
*Stallholders must bring their own equipment i.e. marquee, marquee weights (no pegging permitted in the park), table, chairs* 

Please note: No power will be available for any stall option. 

Selection Process

Stalls will be allocated on a first-in, best-dressed basis, based on date of application. If your preferred stall type is no longer available, remaining options will be offered based on your listed preferences. 

All applications will also be assessed by a panel of Lake Macquarie City Council staff using the following criteria: 

  • Relevance: Alignment of your products/services with the event theme and audience. 
  • Accessibility: Competitive, affordable pricing suitable for a family-friendly event. 
  • Quality: Standard of goods or services on offer. 
  • Local Preference: Priority given to businesses within Lake Macquarie LGA, followed by the Hunter Region, Central Coast, and Sydney. 
  • Diversity: Balance and variety of vendors to ensure a broad mix of offerings across LMCC events.

      Thank you for taking the time to complete an Expression of Interest for Pop Bam. All applications will be reviewed as they are received. 

      Applications close on Friday, 7 June 2025. Following this date, LMCC will notify all applicants of the outcome of their application.
